You are ‘The Gift’
At this seasonal time
of the year that includes gift giving, it is important to stop
and reflect upon one of the greatest gifts of all – you. Yes,
that’s right, you!
You are your most
precious gift. Despite the trials, the tribulations, the ups
and the downs - your life right now, at this moment, is a gift.
=You
are a gift that you can open up and explore - or you can choose
to keep yourself wrapped up.
=You
are a gift that you can thank God for; “Thank you God for me,” –
or you can take yourself for granted.
=You
are a gift that you can learn from and grow with - or you can
choose to stay the same.
=You
are a gift that you can spend time with - or you choose to
ignore.
Regardless of how you
approach the perfect gift, let’s not forget that you are ‘the
gift’
Have you ever stopped
and thanked God for you, your life, your experiences, your
growth, and your wisdom? Let’s all do so now.
It is easy to
complain, to be unhappy, to be stressed, and to wish things were
different. But, if things were different, would you still be
you? Would you be who you are right now? I guess that could
lead to a long look as to whether you really like who you are,
right now. Let’s put that aside for the moment, and not forget
that you are ‘the gift’. I want to encourage you to take the
time to get to know yourself and love yourself.
If you look up the
definition of ‘gift’ in the dictionary, you will find, “…a
present, the act of giving, a natural ability, talent.” The
gift of your individuality certainly involves the natural
abilities and talent that you were born with and that which you
have developed during your life. This makes you unique,
special, and one of a kind. Maybe part of the gift that you are
includes the definition of present – since a gift, is a
present. One definition of present is, “Occurring now, being at
hand, and being present.”
When you live in the
present moment instead of the past or the future – you give
yourself a powerful gift. The “present” is experiencing your
self in the present. After all, the only things that are real
and true are God’s love and the present moment.
So as you
contemplate the gift that you represent to yourself, be “a
present,” and “a gift” to yourself, by living and being in the
present.
I am present. I am
gift. I am precious gift. I honor myself. Thank you God for
me!
Happy Holidays. God
Bless You.
